In conjunction with SportBILD, the electronics manufacturer,SANYO, offered a Goal Alert service for the 2006 World Cup. Disguised as a SANYO light beam and using a scoreboard, iNewsflash brought every successful World Cup shot direct to the football fan's PC. The number of installations of the World Cup widget during the competition was in the five figure region and 25 per cent then clicked on the textlink to SANYO's " World Cup Winners".
iNewsFlash ensured the success of "World Cup Winners" and brought a quick return on
investment. At the same time, the Goal Alert brought the SANYO brand in to focus
on the user's screen and forever linked it in fans' minds to the fairytale summer
of 2006.
